Greg Gianforde is already a historical figure in America politics and he hasn’t been to court yet.

Gianforte, the GOP Congressional Candidate from Montana is facing charges for what some called “body slamming” a reporter prior to the election.

The Gianforte website states “I’ll always be on Montana’s side.” And then calls for people to “Join the Team.” One wonders given the reports if the Greg Gianforte “team” involves tag-team wrestling.

Despite his attack on reporter Ben Jacobs, caught on audio, Gianforte won the election. Despite the hysteria of the MSM and its wall-to-wall condemnation of Gianforte, he won the election.

The best storyline came from on-site Fox News reporter Alicia Acuna who was preparing for Gianforte’s meeting with a live broadcast on “Special Report with Bret Baier.”

While Fox News staff were setting up equipment, Ben Jacobs, the Guardian reporter and assault victim, walked up to Gianforte and shoved a recorder “to Gianforte’s face and began asking if he had a response to the newly released Congressional Budget Office report on the American Health Care Act,” the Republican replacement for the Affordable Care Act, Acuna wrote.

Acuna said, “Gianforte told him he would get back to him later. Jacobs persisted with his question. Gianforte told him to talk to his press guy, Shane Scanlon” and, according to Acuna, “…Gianforte grabbed Jacobs by the neck with both hands and slammed him into the ground behind him.”

“We watched in disbelief as Gianforte then began punching the reporter. As Gianforte moved on top of Jacobs, he began yelling something to the effect of, ‘I’m sick and tired of this!’” – Alicia Acuna, Fox News

Gianforte was later charged with Misdemeanor Assault by the local Sheriff, reportedly a Gianforte campaign contributor.

Needless to say, the social media channels lit up with the Body Slammer theme, including our own @iVoteAmerica Twitter channel. Even the New York Times appeared to come to Montana’s rescue with a Sunday piece by Sarah Vowell entitled,”Don’t Judge Montana for a Single Body Slam.” This made us wonder if multiple body slams would be a cause for judgment.

Gianforte, later issuing an on-air apology for the incident, will be sworn in and likely pay a fine and perhaps face legal action from Ben Jacobs.
