Nancy Pelosi, the first Woman to wield the gavel as Speaker of the House will kick-off the DNC tonight. As a San Francisco liberal politician, Pelosi delivers to the Party the favored power behind the Speaker’s position through control of the legislative agenda.
It is the afore mentioned power that enabled her to stop Republicans from opening up the US coastal waters to offshore drilling. She stopped the vote from taking place and, as many Republicans have done before her, left Washington for the summer recess.

Michelle Obama is the keynote speaker at tonight’s Democratic National Convention. Can Michelle, after being refurbished by the Obama campaign marketing handlers, overcome her negative public image amoung middle Americans and conservatives?
One thing is certain, the public is waiting for Michelle Obama to clear the air on her “I’m finally proud of America” gaffe. Those on the right still consider Michelle to be a wild card in the high stakes presidential poker game…everyone will be watching tonight.
