A Tarnished Nation in a Valley

obama-pelosi-reid-styled-framed-275Ronald Regan’s characterization of America as a “Shining city on a hill” remains one of the most inspirational characterizations of our nation since its founding.

Barack Obama, our President, has been systematically dismantling the nation’s framework for freedom, reducing us to “a tarnished nation in a valley.”

Never before has then been such an obvious frontal assault on our nation’s fundamental principles of individualism, liberty and entrepreneurialism.

Led by Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Harry Reid (D-NV) on the Congressional side, Barack Obama has fundamentally altered the economic direction of America by shifting trillions of dollars from the private sector to the federal government and by strapping us with an astronomical, multi-generation debt.

This economic shift creates a massive loss of freedom for the American people…debt always does! Federal control of just about every aspect of the economy has been instituted. On top of this transfer of power, taxes will be raised on January 1, 2011 for all Americans, breaking our backs.

Our beloved Ronald Reagan must be watching in disbelief and a broken heart. We now have a President that is hell-bent on creating a nation made up of economic classes, racial categories and the governing elite.

Our Two Pronged Strategy: Gut the Carp, Replace the Fish

We must either drive the President of the United States out of office or, vote him and his minions out of office in November and in the Presidential election of 2012.

In November, we will disembowel the President by replacing Congress with new Members who have pledged to adhere to traditional American values that are aligned with the Constitution and our unalienable rights.

This is a two-pronged approach. First, we will gut the President by removing his grip on congress and his power to legislate.

Then, the second prong is applied in 2012; we will add more congressional seats by throwing the second batch of idiots out of office along with Barack Obama.

The Big American Shift – Ripping Our Hearts Out

A great shift is underway. The epicenter of freedom, which has always resided in the heart of the individual, has been moved by Barack Obama to Washington, D.C. where it has taken up temporary residence. But freedom cannot be contained by government nor can it be removed from the minds and hearts of people who have enjoyed its benefits.

What our narcissistic President fails to understand is the anger of the American people. If he does understand it, he chooses to ignore it, making his actions even more despicable.

With the election of Joe Miller in Alaska and his defeat of Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, the writing is on the wall. We are mad as hell about Barack Obama and his leftist friends and we are not going to take it anymore!

Thanks, Mr. President, but No Thanks!

In a way, however, Barack Obama is helping restore America by his socialist actions, which seem unabated. The language, the rhetoric, the class warfare, not to mention his massive spending spree (and I am not even talking about the vacations) have pushed America from its position on Reagan’s hill down into a cluttered valley where we languish, momentarily tarnished.

iVoteAmerica has said repeatedly that short of anarchy the only way to resurrect the shining city to its place of preeminence to literally overthrow the government by voting the incumbent establishment, Democrat and non-conservative Republicans, out of office.

In fact, we have a constitutional obligation to replace any government that fails to uphold the constitution and the centrality of governed as the possessors of unalienable rights. Here is what the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America says:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.”

We are not going to allow Barack Obama and career politicians who have lost their connection to the Constitution and the American people to turn our shining city on a hill into a tarnished nation in a valley.

Staying on the Political Playing Field

We have to stay on the political playing field through the November elections and all the way to the 2012, when we elect our next President. It will not be easy. There are going to be some casualties because this is high stakes political warfare and the second greatest political battle since the founding of the nation.

Things are going to get very ugly, nasty and dirty. But we must stay in the game and never relent. Our Nation’s Founders we right when they said, “…whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government…”

My Like of Mark

mark levin framedMark Levin and I are new pals. That is, I am a new listener to his compelling multi-hour program via my satellite radio connection. Last week I found myself driving aimlessly in order to capture all Mark could give me.

My sense of Mark and what drives him is growing. Along with my appreciation of his positions, I find his arguments used to sustain his viewpoints nearly impregnable.

Seldom am I upset when a radio talk show host concludes his/her broadcast. Not so with Mark. I’m pissed off that he has shut down because I want more of him, his wit, his intelligence, his anger, his overall persona and his direct approach to the problems we all face.

Just this week he told a caller who praised the health care system in North Korea to “get the hell out” of America and move to North Korea if he thought their health care system was so remarkable. Why, I thought, for the love of God, don’t more people act like Mark and just cut to the proverbial chase? If America is so screwed up, just get the hell out!

BP: Lessons about Government and Business

bp capFor nearly three months we have all been watching plumes of oil gushing from the BP oil operation in the Gulf of Mexico.

Yesterday, July 15, 2010, with cautious optimism, BP announced that indeed the leak had been capped and that testing would begin to ensure the long term viability of their solution.

The BP debacle, however maddening, became for me a laboratory where I could learn lessons about the effectiveness of business versus that of government.

Despite the tragedy and its ensuing ecological and economic damage to the Gulf region, a picture has emerged that demonstrates how the real world of business works and how the real world of government pretends to work.

THE REAL WORLD OF GOVERNMENT

Throughout the entire BP episode we were treated (for lack of a better word) to a real world lesson about how government and business deal with and solve problems. In this case, monumental and catastrophic problems. The BP oil spill was indeed the ultimate reality show.

It is indeed interesting to see how the Obama administration began to posture itself from “day one” and to politicize the issue. Officials were paraded before cameras declaring that our government was on top of the situation. They weren’t.

Obama’s House of Cards

Ever since polls have been taken there have been presidents who encountered disapproval during their terms in office. Usually history exonerates them to some degree. This is not likely to happen with Barack Obama.

As this is written, a Politico.com polls puts Obama’s job disapproval rating at 46.4% and Congress has a disapproval rate of 72%, a figure matched by Rasmussen Reports. Obama’s disapproval rate according to Rasmussen was 44%.

Polls, we are always told, are “snapshots” of public opinion at a given time, but the polls consistently tell us that the vast majority of Americans disapprove of the President and Congress, and believe the nation is headed in the wrong direction.

In a recent Wall Street Journal column, Peggy Noonan, wrote “I don’t see how the president’s position and popularity can survive the oil spill. This is his third political disaster in his first 18 months in office. And they were all, as they say, unforced errors, meaning they were shaped by the president’s judgment and instincts.”

Suffice it to say that, if elections were being held next Tuesday, voters would replace most of those in Congress and, if Obama’s ratings continue to fall—-and I think they will—-there would be an angry mob surrounding the White House carrying torches and pitchforks demanding his resignation.
