It’s the curse of having sat through too many local town council meetings and too many speeches by politicians; it’s taking notes as they speak because you want to keep what’s said fresh in mind.
Regular folks don’t do this, but anyone who has spent any time as a reporter will tell you it is a hard habit to break.
So, on Tuesday, January 11, I found myself taking notes as New Jersey Governor, Chris Christie, gave his first constitutionally required State of the State speech. He will be back in February with a speech about his budget.
A Jolly, Fat Buzz-Saw
Christie’s State of the State speech was delivered to the members of the New Jersey Senate and Assembly, mostly Democrats; all of whom had learned in the previous year that the Governor was a jolly, fat buzz-saw who just loves a good fight.
Gov. Christie was preceded by two of the worst Governors in current times, Jim McGreevey who discovered he was gay after he put his boyfriend on the payroll and the whispers in the statehouse became a raging storm. He was followed by Jon Corzine, a limousine liberal. Together they increased taxes and fees 115 times in eight years! In a single term in office, Corzine raised taxes $9 billion!

Barbara Walters used to be a professional who could face people, look them in the eye and interview them with some degree of intelligence and respect.
On September 13, 2008 during The View, Walters went “WA-WA” on John McCain, interrupting, turning her cold shoulder to him and failing to look him in the eye while attacking his selection of Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential candidate.
See the YouTube replay here.
iVoteAmerica doesn’t care about The View and how it chooses to execute its program and John McCain is a big boy who should be able to hold up to the women who host The View.
You Just think it’s the Economy
What we do want our readers to note is that the division among American women over the selection of Sarah Palin continues to be “THE STORY” of this election.

The mystery is over. Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska is real, very real. She is also capable of delivering knock out lines with a whimsical smile.
In an exceptionally gender-biased mind-bending way the liberal, left leaning, mainstream media continues to put the forth the questions, “Can a mother of five from small town America lead a nation?”
Sarah Palin lit fires under millions of every soccer and hockey mom in America by saying, “I joined the PTA…every family has its ups and downs…” She smiled as she delivered carefully crafted hammer-blows to the inexperienced Barack Obama.
Behind the Smile
Don’t be fooled. Behind the smile there is a powerful woman of incredible resolve, conviction, family values and nerves of steel.
Palin is the real deal. We found out that John McCain’s first duty as President was his ability to pick a running mate that can (1) be President and (2) connect with America. Palin can do both.

Hurricane Gustav is scheduled to hit landfall on Monday morning, September 1, 2008. The hurricane has the gulf coast on pins and needles. (image used is hurricane Katrina)
The evacuations are underway as iVoteAmerica types. The players, including Governors, Mayors, George Bush, Dick Cheney, the Republican and Democratic Parties and yes, the media, especially the liberal media, are going to use Gustav.
Without discounting or minimizing the destruction, disruptions and even potential loss of human life, iVoteAmerica wants to invite our readers to observe how the players will ALL be “using Gustav.” It’s sad but true.
