America is, for all practical intents and purposes, becoming a quagmire of massive and disconnected proportions. The engine driving the nutty nation is the Federal bureaucracy, fueled by politicians who have lost their sanity.
Of note is the latest piece of legislation coming out of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 that would ban the use of the word “lunatic” in any federal documents and law.
One of the inmates in the Congressional asylum voted against the action…just one. Representative Louie Gohmert refused to take his political Prozac and wash it down with popular political Kool-Aid. According to news reports, Mr. Gohmert stated that use of the word lunatic “really has application” to Washington.
There remains little in the way of predictability in American politics. While we watch our $16 trillion dollar debt climbs to $17 trillion and taxes on all Americans (that’s right, all Americans) go up on January 1, 2012, our elected officials are spending their time determining, legalizing and controlling what words can and cannot be used in Washington. iVoteAmerica is impressed with much of the content of Paul’s speech and the depth of his understanding of the issues of liberty and limited government. In fact, we are so impressed with Paul’s ability to draw the connections between the actions of governement and the erosion of individual freedom we thought it important to memorialize his speech in a customized downloadable document.
We have taken some liberties to reformat the transcript, correct a few errors and add images without any change to the content of the speech.
Regardless of whether one agrees with each and every libertarian percept put forth by Paul, there is no denying his depth of understanding of the need to control the role of government in the lives of American’s.
Too many in high places of authority became convinced that only they, armed with arbitrary government power, can bring about fairness, while facilitating wealth production. This always proves to be a utopian dream and destroys wealth and liberty. It impoverishes the people and rewards the special interests who end up controlling both political parties. – Ron Paul
We thank Ron Paul for his decades of service and wish him and his family many blessings and joy that can only be fully appreciated as a result liberty.
Between the time that George Washington took the first oath of office as president and when Barack Obama did—1789 to 2009, the United States had borrowed nine trillion dollars. Since Obama took office, it has borrowed or imposed nearly three trillion more debt. Tell me he is not deliberately seeking to bankrupt the nation.
In an August 28 Wall Street Journal editorial it noted that “To no one’s surprise except Vice President Joe Biden’s, second quarter economic growth was revised down yesterday to 1.6% from the prior estimate of growth of 2.4% which was down from first quarter growth of 3.7%, which was down from the 2009 fourth quarter’s 5%. Economic recoveries are supposed to go in the other direction.”
The Chacracteristics are Strikingly Similar
I was born during the Great Depression of the 1930s and have lived long enough now to find myself in a new one. There are similarities between the two, but the first one led to the creation of a variety of government regulatory entities and programs that should have avoided or at least were expected put the brakes on the current one. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.”
iVoteAmerica has left no doubt about our belief that the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, is one tick removed from midnight on the insanity clock. This diatribe should dispel all doubt that within her head there resides a world undecipherable to sane people.
We’re not entirely certain whether the Speaker’s intention was to give a policy speach or a sermon. Nonetheless, listen here to the most powerful woman in America as she gushes forth a litinany of spiritual babble in a manner that makes the BP oil spill look like a dribble.
At least we all understand what we are up against with respect to the BP oil spill. In this case, only God and a few highly trained psychiatrists can shed light on just how mental Nancy Pelosi really is.
Our prayer is “Holy God, save us from both our sins and the insanity of our leaders…amen.”
