The National Prayer of Billy Graham
October 18th, 2010 . by iVote
iVoteAmerica received an email containing one of the prayers of the Rev. Billy Graham and we want to pass it on to you for your consideration.
Billy Graham is one of the oldest living evangelists in the world and is loved and admired by millions of people.
He has been a close confidant and Pastor to many US Presidents.
He has been affectionately referred to as “America’s Pastor” and has never been tainted with scandal.
“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, ‘Woe to those who call evil good,’ but that is exactly what we have done.
We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.Search us, oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!”
Rev. Billy Graham
Greetings! I am a media assistant at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and wanted to give you a heads up that the prayer that you have attributed to Billy Graham was not prayed by Mr. Graham. Rather, it was actually prayed by Rev. Joe Wright. It was delivered before the Kansas House of Representatives on January 23, 1996. If you would like for me to send you a wonderful prayer for the nation that Mr. Graham offered on May 3, 2001, I would be happy to do so.
Ooops…our error. As mentioned this was sent to us by another source. Please us the correction to ivoteamerica@gmail.com. Thank you for brining this error to our attention. God bless Bill Graham.
