That is, I am a new listener to his compelling multi-hour program via my satellite radio connection. Last week I found myself driving aimlessly in order to capture all Mark could give me.

My sense of Mark and what drives him is growing. Along with my appreciation of his positions, I find his arguments used to sustain his viewpoints nearly impregnable.

Seldom am I upset when a radio talk show host concludes his/her broadcast. Not so with Mark. I’m pissed off that he has shut down because I want more of him, his wit, his intelligence, his anger, his overall persona and his direct approach to the problems we all face.

Just this week he told a caller who praised the health care system in North Korea to “get the hell out” of America and move to North Korea if he thought their health care system was so remarkable. Why, I thought, for the love of God, don’t more people act like Mark and just cut to the proverbial chase? If America is so screwed up, just get the hell out!

Like Mark, many of us believe that the reckless spending and irresponsible actions of our government, State and Federal, have us on a path to utter destruction…and not just financially, but morally as well. That is why I’ve joined him in the crusade against the mad, mad, mad, mad world and work of Barack Obama, his stooges and all of the other self-serving career politicians who don’t give a rat’s anus about average Americans.

My like of and love for Mark Levin is not a fickle, trendy, passing fancy rather, it is predicated upon shared conservative principles, beliefs and problem solving that stem from a belief that we are “endowed by a Creator” with rights and responsibilities not only to ourselves but to everyone around us, including the next generation.

My like of Mark is based upon shared truth, expressed with undying passion born of love for America.

Like Mark, iVoteAmerica believes that the next two elections could well determine the direction America takes for many decades to come.

Like Mark, iVoteAmerica urges you to turn off the television and get off the couch this November to vote. We have to flush the political toilet.

Lately I have been playing with the question, is the United States of America too big to fail?

Greece’s bonds are now rated as “junk.” It will have to be bailed out with billions from the nations of the European Union, but Portugal is not far behind and so are Italy and Spain. Iceland went belly-up months ago. Meanwhile, the sovereign debt of the United Kingdom, plus the assets of its five largest banks, exceeds 500% of its gross domestic product (GDP)!

According to Forbes, in the United States the total federal debt, including debt held by government agencies like the Social Security fund has ballooned by 50% since 2006 to $12.3 trillion. The U.S. government debt-to-GDP radio is 84%. A tipping point into default is generally believed to be 90%.

Can the whole financial system be gamed? Well, yes. On September 15, 2008 there was a suspicious, coordinated withdrawal of $550 billion from American banks just before the end of the 2008 election campaigns. It forced the Federal Reserve to shut down the drain of funds leaving the nation.

Within days the then-Secretary of Treasury, Henry Paulson was asking Congress to cut him a blank check for billions in order to stave off the collapse of major financial institutions. Subsequently, one of them, Lehman Brothers, was allowed to fail while a forced marriage between Bank of America and Merrill Lynch ensued to keep the latter from failing.

Troubled asset or TARP funds were dispensed and repaid. It’s hard not to make a profit when the Federal Reserve is lending you billions at zero interest rates.

It is now official White House policy to berate Wall Street and threaten it with a ruinous expansion of regulation. Others considered enemies of the state by the Obama administration include insurance and pharmaceutical companies, along with producers of oil and coal.

The whole world of central banking is deliberately murky to the outsider. I have no idea how it works except that their first imperative is to remain solvent so that the sovereign entity they serve remains solvent as well.

That is not easy in an era when most nations have socialist regimes requiring very high taxes with which to redistribute their nation’s wealth. This is further complicated if the nation’s population is aging as is the case throughout Europe. America is aging too as the Baby Boomer generation begins to reach 65.

In point of fact, Social Security, the oldest Ponzi scheme in town, is now taking in less money than it is paying out.

Ironically, an element of this aging is the fact that America has had a remarkable healthcare system that has contributed to expanding average life expectancy to 78 among men and over 80 among women. That will change if Obamacare is allowed to make the rules. Old people will become expendable.

The other Ponzi scheme is Medicare and Medicaid. They are expected to go broke in about eight years or so. All of the billions collected from income taxes every year now go to Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, and to defense spending. To pay all other government expenses, the money must be borrowed.

When you “reform” Medicare as the Obama administration and the Democrats in Congress just did and it turns out that it is going to cost billions more than the former system, you have to wonder about the depths of stupidity involved?

A child born today arrives with a debt of $30,000. To secure a college education, the average expense is around $100.000. Life in America is going to be ruinously expensive, including for the 40% of Americans who pay no income taxes.

Beyond the borrowing and spending is another factor that is being ignored or undermined. The nation requires a dependable supply of electricity to keep EVERYTHING going. When the electricity stops, the nation will stop. It will be unable to function. Computers, the banks, the trains, the airlines, the supermarkets, gas station pumps, television, heating and cooling systems, elevators….EVERYTHING.

This is hardly the time to be lavishing billions in federal subsidies on dubious “clean energy” systems such as wind and solar, but that is exactly what the Obama administration is doing.

The reality is that coal-fired, natural gas and nuclear energy generates 88% of the electricity we use. We need more, not less, as our population increases.

At what point do Americans begin to ask why the Obama administration:

#1 – Has imposed a very expensive overhaul of the nation’s health system,

#2 – Is opposing the development of traditional sources of electrical power and for transportation,

#3 – And is attempting to impose the biggest tax on energy use (Cap-and-Trade) in the nation’s history.

Perhaps the worst idea is a VAT (value added) tax that will affect every purchase of, well, everything.

At what point will the economy of the United States of America simply fail under this very unpleasant set of conditions? The answer in part is when other nations decide not to buy our treasury notes.

The United States has gone from the greatest economy the world has ever seen to being a creditor nation whose currency is in danger of being devalued.

I don’t like thinking about such things. No one does, but someone must.

I think he’s led a kind of make-believe life in which money was provided and doors were opened because at some point early on somebody or some group took a look at this tall, good looking, half-white, half-black, young man with an exotic African/Muslim name and concluded he could be guided toward a life in politics where his facile speaking skills could even put him in the White House.

In a very real way, he has been a young man in a very big hurry. Who else do you know has written two memoirs before the age of 45? “Dreams of My Father” was published in 1995 when he was only 34 years old. The “Audacity of Hope” followed in 2006. If, indeed, he did write them himself. There are some who think that his mentor and friend, Bill Ayers, a man who calls himself a “communist with a small ‘c’” was the real author.

His political skills consisted of rarely voting on anything that might be deemed controversial. He went from a legislator in the Illinois legislature to the Senator from that state because he had the good fortune of having Mayor Daley’s formidable political machine at his disposal.

He was in the U.S. Senate so briefly that his bid for the presidency was either an act of astonishing self-confidence or part of some greater game plan that had been determined before he first stepped foot in the Capital. How, many must wonder, was he selected to be a 2004 keynote speaker at the Democrat convention that nominated John Kerry when virtually no one had ever even heard of him before?

He outmaneuvered Hillary Clinton in primaries. He took Iowa by storm. A charming young man, an anomaly in the state with a very small black population, he oozed “cool” in a place where agriculture was the antithesis of cool. He dazzled the locals. And he had an army of volunteers drawn to a charisma that hid any real substance.

And then he had the great good fortune of having the Republicans select one of the most inept candidates for the presidency since Bob Dole. And then John McCain did something crazy. He picked Sarah Palin, an unknown female governor from the very distant state of Alaska. It was a ticket that was reminiscent of 1984’s Walter Mondale and Geraldine Ferraro and they went down to defeat.

The mainstream political media fell in love with him. It was a schoolgirl crush with febrile commentators like Chris Mathews swooning then and now over the man. The venom directed against McCain and, in particular, Palin, was extraordinary.

Now, nearly a full year into his first term, all of those gilded years leading up to the White House have left him unprepared to be President. Left to his own instincts, he has a talent for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It swiftly became a joke that he could not deliver even the briefest of statements without the ever-present Tele-Prompters.

Far worse, however, is his capacity to want to “wish away” some terrible realities, not the least of which is the Islamist intention to destroy America and enslave the West. Any student of history knows how swiftly Islam initially spread. It knocked on the doors of Europe, having gained a foothold in Spain.

The great crowds that greeted him at home or on his campaign “world tour” were no substitute for having even the slightest grasp of history and the reality of a world filled with really bad people with really bad intentions.

Oddly and perhaps even inevitably, his political experience, a cakewalk, has positioned him to destroy the Democrat Party’s hold on power in Congress because in the end it was never about the Party. It was always about his communist ideology, learned at an early age from family, mentors, college professors, and extreme leftist friends and colleagues.

Obama is a man who could deliver a snap judgment about a Boston police officer who arrested an “obstreperous” Harvard professor-friend, but would warn Americans against “jumping to conclusions” about a mass murderer at Fort Hood who shouted “Allah Akbar.” The absurdity of that was lost on no one. He has since compounded this by called the Christmas bomber “an isolated extremist” only to have to admit a day or two later that he was part of an al Qaeda plot.

He is a man who could strive to close down our detention facility at Guantanamo even though those released were known to have returned to the battlefield against America. He could even instruct his Attorney General to afford the perpetrator of 9/11 a civil trial when no one else would ever even consider such an obscenity. And he is a man who could wait three days before having anything to say about the perpetrator of yet another terrorist attack on Americans and then have to elaborate on his remarks the following day because his first statement was so lame.

The pattern repeats itself. He either blames any problem on the Bush administration or he naively seeks to wish away the truth.

Knock, knock. Anyone home? Anyone there? Barack Obama exists only as the sock puppet of his handlers, of the people who have maneuvered and manufactured this pathetic individual’s life.

When anyone else would quickly and easily produce a birth certificate, this man has spent over a million dollars to deny access to his. Most other documents, the paper trail we all leave in our wake, have been sequestered from review. He has lived a make-believe life whose true facts remain hidden.

We laugh at the ventriloquist’s dummy, but what do you do when the dummy is President of the United States of America?

.!.

Reading Alan Caruba’s syndicated post entitled “When Government Goes Insane,” made me ponder the power of a lunatic body when and whereby the cadre of elected attendants are certifiably nutty.

The measure of “nuttiness” was never more profound than when I was treated to a clinical demonstration of pathological double-speak by none other than the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi as she flipped, flopped and waxed fickle regarding the CIA’s claim to have briefed her about enhanced interrogation methods, yes, water-boarding.

Furthermore, during her press conference as I watched and listened to an elected lunatic, a flash of fear bolted through my mind, “holy s___t…this lunatic is second in line to the Presidency of the United States of America!”

Upon additional musing, Joe Biden surfaced in my cranium as the first lunatic in line to assume the Presidency.

There is now no doubt about it; we are a government of the lunatics, by the lunatics and for the lunatics. We have become a Prozac nation whose insatiable appetite for irresponsibility has found its way to the highest positions of leadership and power we have to offer. We seem to be numbed by it all as if in a self-induced stupor from which we cannot awaken.

Being governed by lunatics for lunatics wouldn’t be so bad if the insanity wasn’t finding its way into every nook and cranny of our national policy.

Alan Caruba is correct when he says,

Much of what the government is doing and proposing to do is patently insane. It is most surely unconstitutional.

The question has become, “Can we survive?” That is, can our national insanity and lunatic behavior be cured? If if can be cured, can it be cured in time? Can we expunge the lunatics who are running the national asylum before they destroy us all? Will there be so many drugs in the drinking water of national policy that we will never be able to shake the dependency?

Lunatics should not be charge of anything and we should consider water-boarding Nancy Pelosi in order to force her to disclose the truth. Or, if we prefer a more humane treatment perhaps shock therapy for her, Harry Reid and Joe Biden is in order. After all they seem to be a danger to themselves and to others!
