GOP Power House Line Up Tonight

September 3rd, 2008 . by iVote

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.”

- Thomas Jefferson – Founding Father

Tonight the GOP Convention turns a corner. The boredom ends tonight when Romney, Huckabee, Giuliani and the most famous V.P. Candidate of all time, Governor Sarah Palin, each take the stage with a message designed to position John McCain’s campaign for the final home stretch.

The iVoteAmerica speech content predictions for each of them are summarized as follows:

Double Standard Daughters

September 2nd, 2008 . by iVote

Everyone knows Chelsea Clinton was “off limits,” totally. The media kept their distance while she was in the white house. The media never reported on her activities while she was a college student. In fact, while Chelsea actively campaigned for her mother during the Democratic primaries reporters were not allowed to ask her questions. With the exception of one embarrasing question from a student in Indianapolis regarding the Monic Lewinski affair, which Chelsea blew off, she Ms. Clinton has been classified by the press as “exempt” from direct interrogatives.

It became a blogging buzz that no one had ever heard Chelsea speak…we didn’t even know what her voice sounded like! Chelsea was hands off, camera off, mic off. Only during the second half of the Democratic primaries did we actually hear Chelsea answer a question.

That was the standard for Chelsea.

Enter Sarah Palin, the conservative Governor of Alaska as John McCain’s Vice Presidential nominee. Enter Sarah Palin’s family…enter her husband and five children. Enter Bristol Palin, Chelsea’s designated counterpart. Enter pregnancy story. Enter left leaning media with a whole new double standard for the daughters.

iVoteAmerica has been saying the media must constantly be watched and studied for hypocrisy, bias and down right dirty and unethical reporting. When it came to the story of Bristol Palin’s 5-month pregnancy, the media couldn’t get enough. Watch the CBS News video report.

To mask the media’s obvious bias against Sarah Palin they talked about her daughter’s pregnancy by saying “we shouldn’t be talking about the dughter’s pregnancy…children and family members are off-limits.”

Even Barack Obama couldn’t resist talking about Sarah Palin’s family by yes, talking about Sarah Palin’s family and then stating that if anyone in his campaign talked about Sarah Palin’s family they would be “fired.”

Sarah Palin, John’s Bold VP Selection?

August 29th, 2008 . by iVote

John McCain could be about ready to once again demonstrate his “unconventional” and “maverick” style. Early reports indicate that he will tap Sarah Palin, first term Governor of Alaska as his Vice Presidential candidate and running mate.

Mitt Romney…out. Mike Huckabee…out. Tim Pawlenty…out. Tom Ridge…out. Joe Lieberman…out. Meg Whitman…out.

Sarah Palin the popular conservative Governor of Alaska will, if selected, be one of the biggest surprises of the campaign to date. Palin pledged to clean up the polluted world of politics in Alaska if elected Governor. She is pro-life and the mother of five children.

Sarah and husband Todd have five children: Track, 19, Trig, 4 months and daughters Bristol, 17, Willow, 13, and Piper, 7. Track Palin joined the Army and reportedly will be sent to Iraq on or about September 11.

But does she have the timber to be Vice President or much more, President of the United States?

She is pro business and signed a bill on August 27, 2008 (two days ago!) authorizing the state of Alaska to approve TransCanada Corporation’s license request to build a $27 billion pipeline to carry natural gas 1,715- miles from the Arctic to U.S. markets.

iVoteAmerica believes that if Palin is the VP Nominee, her energy positions will be hailed by Republicans and scrutinized by Democrats. We also believe that this move, if proven true this morning will be a coup for the McCain campaign and a brilliant selection because it accomplishes many things by nominating a conservative, a woman, a Governor, a pro-life person and a pro-energy innovator.

More coming from Dayton, Ohio as John McCain prepares to name his VP Candidate today, Friday, August 29, 2008 at 12 noon ET.
