Damon Takes Aim…”really”
September 12th, 2008 . by iVote“…she’s a mayor from a really, really small town…”
“…like a really bad disney movie
“…it’s a really terrifying possiblity…”
“It’s absurd.”
“…using stuff she learned at the local hockey rink.”
“…does she really think dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago…I need to know if she believes that.”
Matt Damon is no Jason Bourne.
But his caricature of the US spy operative believed by his superiors to have gone sideways is worthy of viewing. Most of us at iVoteAmerica have seen the Identity (2002), Supremacy (2004) and Ultimatum (2007) more than once. When you watch the Bourne trilogy, you’ll need to remind yourself, it’s just a movie…it’s make believe…it not real.
Matt Damon recently referred to the nomination and potential ascension of Sarah Palin (R, AK) as something akin to a “really bad Disney movie.” (video follows) He ripped her for being mayor of “some small town” and predicted, based upon actuary tables, that McCain has a 1 in 3 “or better” chance of dying in office, putting Palin face-to-face with Putin.
Special Message to Matt Damon: Wake Up, Matt! Our Government is becoming more and more like a really bad Disney movie every day! But it has nothing to do with Sarah Palin.
Mr. Damon said, “I think the pick (Palin) was made for political purposes.” No kidding Matt! What other reason could there be?
Matt Damon should stick to what he does best, acting. Damon’s impersonation of make believe characters is where he belongs. Go back to Hollywood Matt and shut up! You sound stupid and look even dumber…really you do!

Well, another reason could be to choose your running mate based on who would make a good president in the event of your death, not just one who might get you a few more votes.
Is your whole complaint against his speech the fact that he overuses the word “really”?
Well, really.
Agreed! Matt’s use of “really” was highlighted because of repeated emphatic and passionate use of it…no complaint, just our observation of his use of it. The Palin pick is one of the most astute and calculated of our time…perhaps even brilliant for the reasons you state and many others. Thanks! -iVoteAmerica
Matt is following the liberal views of Hollywood. If they-all Americans would read the stats and the platforms of the candidates the choice would be obvious. I think Sarah Palin was a great choice, She has as much or more experience as Obama and seems to be less of a liar.
