America’s Kiss of Death, the Loss of Standards
September 10th, 2008 . by iVote
When our politicians are finally reduced to spending their time and ours in a mindless mud slinging verbal exchange that has more to do with pigs, lips, pit bulls and gutter politics, we may all be facing the kiss of death.
Today we were all treated with the statement from South Carolina’s Democratic Chairwoman Carol Fowler who said that John McCain had chosen a running mate “whose primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.”
Waking up to the Issues we Face
iVoteAmerica has already listed many of the potentially catastrophic issues we are facing as American’s and the candidates, primarily McCain and Obama, seem content to never really face us with specificity regarding the billions of dollars per month we are spending in Iraq, the collapse of our financial markets, our housing crisis, our health care problems, our deteriorating infrastructure, our increased unemployment, our declining dollar, our energy crisis, our border security and immigration policies, our loss of respect around the world and our lack of leadership in Washington, D.C.
The Debates won’t Help Us
We are going to have three so-called “debates.” One of these will feature Joe Biden and Sarah Palin squaring off in what will probably be prime time heaven for the media. The other two debates will be jousting matches between Obama and McCain controlled by the major media. These won’t be true debates; they never are! They will be carefully crafted public relations events. It’s likely that we will all come away shaking our heads.
Our national crisis is a crisis of true leadership. The failure of our political leaders to lead with integrity, design and resolve is bringing us closer and closer to the kiss of death.
Wake up or pucker up, America!
