The Democratic National Convention started off with a home run ball delivered by none other than Michelle Obama. Whatever voters may think about Mrs. Obama, the speech she gave was rated by iVoteAmerica as a “ten” on a scale of 1-5 and demonstrated Michelle’s intelligence and ability to communicate as effectively as any politician we’ve seen of late.

Discounting the Michelle makeover, conducted by the Obama spin team, Michele’s speech hit just about every nerve ending in the human psyche and brought many to tears. From father to mother, family life to community and her relationship with Barack, Michelle hit the home run ball.

Historically, the speech is a corner-turning phenomena because it, according to a post speech interview Juan Williams of Fox News was brought to tears and stated,

As a human being, as an African-American, it’s unbelievable. And then to have a family situation, given all the tension in Black America over families, and to see that positive image there for everybody to see. … Man, that’s just awesome. – Juan Williams – FoxNews, August 25, 2006
